Stories I Have Written

~ Original and Inspired Fiction ~

I have become interested in writing around the age of 12. I remember it even now. It was summer and I was spending the holidays with my cousins at our grandparents’ place. The house was in the suburbs so it was not exactly the ideal countryside landscape, especially since we had a large warehouse at the end of the back yard (the state had forcibly taken my grandparents’ land to build the warehouse there, since that’s how it was in communist times, the state could very well throw you out of your home for no apparent reason). Still, there was a fairly large yard with trees and everything so I can’t complain, I really did have a wonderful childhood.

So, one evening I was hanging around with my cousin and we were just fooling around, having a laugh at God knows what, when we decided to make up fictional scenarios about ourselves and the things we could do in our games, how we would want to be in our imaginary world and so forth. Then, when my cousin decided to go to bed I suddenly felt the urge to make up an actual story and write down all those things we had imagined and imagine more. Over the next two or three years my cousin and I continued to make up such stories and we would just sit for hours and write and draw an glue pictures in our colored made-up notebooks.

Then we grew up and these things seemed too childish for us to continue and quite frankly we were a bit bored. My cousin moved on to other thing but I remained with this passion for writing. Slowly, I began to move towards other things. I have always had a rich imagination and a dislike for accepting things as they are so, while reading books or watching television, I often found myself envisioning different outcomes, prequels and sequels, characters interacting in different ways or even characters of my own creation mingling in the story. That’s how I started to write, doing something that I later found out it was called “fanfiction”.

I started to post my writings on the net so I could interact with people on this subject, since that is what I liked most about this, the possibility to discuss ideas with others who share your interests. I liked and still like this because it combines business and pleasure perfectly. I do something that I enjoy, that makes me feel happy but at the same time I also study, I improve my knowledge of the English language and my writing skill, because I do wish to be able to write professionally both fiction (novels, short stories) and non-fiction (articles, essays, reviews).

Aside from fanfiction, I also got involved in role-playing, which is better (if you find talented people) because here you are no longer alone with tens or hundreds of characters at your command, but you control one or several while other people do the same. Role-Playing, when done correctly, can be a very creative and entertaining form of interactive story-telling (well, writing actually).

So, in this category I shall be posting bits and pieces from what I have written in the past or what I am writing at present.
